![]() Happy Independence Day
Churchill Downs POST SCRATCHES R8 - Clm 5k N1Y #4 Ww Conquistador - 9yr old gelding making his 112 start. Whenever you saw an Alw Starter for 5k, he was there. #1 Adore the Gold - SCR #7 Humor at Last - Drops from straight claimers and fits well here. #12 Chaffee John - The cut back should help the cause. WON R9 - Alw 52.7K N2X #1 Simplify - Should sit a nice stalking trip right behind #4 Expressive Diva for Assmusen. 2nd #5 Elusive Sparkle (Hunch play on the 4th) - Winner of 2 of last 3 which includes a minor stake at PRM. R10 - G2 Firecraker (Turf) #5 Mr. Sidney - Can't fault the connections for giving the Met Mile a try, but this is his preferred surface evident by his win in the G1 Makers Mark at KEE this spring. WON #4 Thorn Song - Showed some serious grit in the G1 Shoemaker at HOL as he tries to defend title here. 4th #6 Passager (Fr) - He's in too good of form to ignore. #2 Seaspeak - Steps up after back to back wins for Nicks. 3rd R11 - MSW 48k #3 Herecomesbert - Barn knows how to get them ready at 1st asking and the son of Purge looks well meant. #4 Thiskyhasnolimit - Finished 2nd after being well backed at the windows in debut. Asmussen exacta. WON #2 Baby Afleet - Has been working steady for debut. #8 Pececarol - McPeek runner draws well and the tote board should be a good indicator of his chances. No doubt, Bridgmo gets some of the best stock being 1st call rider for Asmussem (Except for Curlin and Rachel Alexandra). Simplify hung a bit.

![]() Precious Passion is amazing once again. I can see some of the opposition sending a rabbit (sprinter) in his next start. That was just silly seeing him open up like that and never really being challenged down the lane. Interesting to see where he goes from here.

I don't think a rabbit works against this horse, as he's shown the ability to come back again when challenged late after having run some silly early fractions. This is a FAST horse. Not all the ***** dirt horses that use kickback and lack of drafting to their advantage. |
