Default Another GOP guilty of ... guess what?

Seriously - do these guys even understand the meaning of "hypocrisy" ? Is this some weird political rite of passage or something?

Maybe they have to pay less attention to some imaginary, "God's standard", and more attention to plain old ethics and morality?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee lawmaker resigned from the state Senate on Tuesday after his extramarital affair with a 22-year-old intern was revealed by an investigation into an extortion case.

"Due to recent events, I have decided to focus my full attention on my family and resign my Senate seat effective August 10," Republican Sen. Paul Stanley wrote in his resignation letter.

Court records show that Stanley, 47, told agents investigating a blackmail case that he had a sexual relationship with intern McKensie Morrison. Her boyfriend, Joel Watts, is charged with trying to extort $10,000 from Stanley in April. Investigators say Watts demanded the money in exchange for not releasing to the media explicit photos of Morrison that Stanley had taken in what appears to be Stanley's apartment.

Stanley's legislative proposals were largely focused on pro-business issues, but he also sponsored failed measures to ban gay couples from adopting children. He also spoke out against funding for Planned Parenthood because he said unmarried people should not have sex.

"Whatever I stood for and advocated, I still believe to be true," he said during an interview Tuesday with Memphis radio station WREC-AM. "And just because I fell far short of what God's standard was for me and my wife, doesn't mean that that standard is reduced in the least bit."

its great that all this hypocrisy is being exposed. maybe people will start to get over themselves and treat everyone equally (gays, unwed single mothers, etc) instead of relying on this "God standard".

Clinton was a Republican? No, Jesse Jackson did the same thing and even became a baby daddy. I know he's not a Repub.

Guess God's standard for Dems including Dems who are Reverends is lower in Riot's eyes.

If you want to really be impressed with the "do as I say, not as I do" Senate/House crowd, google: C Street The Family David Coe

Not at all. Dems can be philanderers, too, and I respect them just as much as I do Independent philanderers and GOP philanderers.

But right now there's an amazing run on God-Fearing (or apparently not) Republicans.

There is a better shot of a mass resignation of all MLB umpires admitting they cheated the Yankees than there is of Jeb Bush getting the nomination.

The messenger doesn't matter. It's a book excerpt type thing from an author.

You can pick another source - one with "broads" - if you like.

Thats always what I say but everybody tells me that I am posting "biased" stuff. Salon features Mary Walsh who is just as radical as Rush or Hannity are claimed to be.

Yes. So google, as I recommended, and pick another source aside from Salon.
