Default The pain of losing...

I handicap for 3 days, watch replays and get drilled out of Arlington pick 3 in first leg. Making it worst, Dynaforce wins second leg, who was one of my 2 a's and on all 4 tickets. Now I have to hope one of the horses I did not use wins The Million.

You just have to take the bad with the good. Keep doing what you're doing.

I gotta tell you a story......

Alive in the late Pick 4 at Churchill last year. Had 6 of 11 in the finale. A 60-1 shot bolts to the lead, runs very quick fractions and I think I'm good. No way that SOB goes all the way. Well, you can figure out what happens.......and my 6 horses finish 2,3,4,5,6,7 (the least of which would have paid $4k)............

What makes it worse was that some lady next to me goes nuts. I'm thinking she really hit something. She tells her friends "I won! I won! I had $2 to show on the 4!!" The 4 was the fav that finished 3rd. I don't know what held me back from punching her in the nose........

Point is, this isn't the worst bad beat story, but it can get worse. Just do like I did (after a 3 hour drive home to stew)......... and keep on going.

Lightbulb I'm in pain for 2 days

Yesterday I needed Southwest in the John's Call for the pick 3 and today I'm alive going into the last Pick 3 with the 5 and the 10 and get beat by Gary Sciacca from the 12 hole. I prepared a big bucket of Ice let it melt for a 1/2 hour and then stuck my head into it. Just KEEP giving yourself opportunities and eventually it will be PAY DAY!

Yeah

And, I was out walking my pet raccoon earlier and came back to find a note from Jen Aniston. She'd come over wanting to jump my bones, cause, she's never gotten it as good, or so she tells me, and was disappointed I was out. There were tears all over the note. Poor girl.

I got depressed for a bit but then Emily Proctor showed up, unannounced, a little bit later, and I did HER (a favor). See how that works? You just got to be in there and sooner or later things go your way.

You sound depressed. Whatever you do, dont listen to the songs they have been playing on the OTB network. In the last hour I have heard the theme from the Titanic, Can you feel the love tonight and If you leave now. Just what a horseplayer down on his luck needs to hear. A song about a ship going down. What a great metaphor.

If you listen to those songs and then read the NYRA picks on their website then you might really cash your own check.

LOL, am I the only one that caught him giving prescription drug advice to underage insomniacs at DM? He said he probably shouldn't say it on tv and I'm inclined to agree because I like him. Did they give him a vacation?

No...he was advocating the prescription version, said he had some in his car. You are right though, he mentioned trazadone (sp?) by name. I've been busy, did he do DM this whole weekend?

I messed up again today...
Race 1, I play a exacta box 5,6....
With 5 min to post I decided its to much of my roll for the day, I cancell the bet and play a pick 3 "5,6/5,6/2"..... That cut the cost a ton... The exacta hits pays over $30, I get drilled out of pick 3 in the second leg.

How much exactly are you playing on each bet? You can do both for half as much and not have these problems.

I went up with a set amount today, less then normal. I only stayed for races 1-6, that was the plan.

I feel your pain, I had that problem Saturday. Best not to go at all if you can't afford what you need to hit
P.S.- Players' Rule NUMBER ONE- NEVER cancel a bet, even a mistake.

Not this player.

I cancel wagers fairly often and I can't remember one that has bit me later. It is one of the best innovations of the ADW's to come along in a long time.
