I didn't bet the race. But if anyone is looking for an after the fact explanation... the horse was making his first lifetime start on the turf.

The horse has had three siblings to try turf .. and one of them improved 53 Beyer points first time on the turf - the other improved 26 Beyer points first time on the turf.

So, one of it's siblings moved up like 25 lengths first time on the turf - and the other like 12 lengths. Not a bad angle in a race where no horse had ever run in a turf route before.

This horse just went from being beaten 27 lengths on the dirt in a maiden race last time out - to winning some phony baloney 60K turf stake race in it's first grass try today.
