NYRA entries
Are they really going back to 48 hours out (eg. Thursday for Saturday) once Belmont starts? If so, why?

I agree, that will suck.

I suppose it has something to with drawing entries so far out and not knowing the weather situation?
I happen to like the 72 hour draw and this will now make NYRA once again one of the only circuits to use a 48 hour draw. NT |

Almost every other track draws 72 hours out. Most of those tracks have to deal with weather, but get it done. I don't see why the draw day should have an effect on entries.

Can anyone really say with a straight face that the weather reports are that much more accurate two days before as opposed to three days out?

Monmouth is also going back to a 48 hour entry draw after Labor Day, since they will race only 4 days a week (Thurs-Sun)

It's actually a change from three racing days out to two racing days out. Wednesday and Thursday cards will be drawn on the prior weekends (effectively four days out).
