Greatest Remake Songs Ever
# 1- Chambers Bros. "Time Has Come" redone by the Ramones. (I personally witnessed this in a club in D.C.)
#2 Sweet Jane by Velvet Underground redone by Cowboy Junkies. (Hard to improve on the best but they did it) #3-Lauryn Hills remake of Roberts Flacks' Killing Me Softly. Actually, this should probably be #1. Thoughts???? |

Will there ever be a better cover than The Lemonheads doing "Mrs. Robinson"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvMFm...om=PL&index=13 Cake's version of "I Will Survive" is terrific... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VOMDAgWbOA "Dear Prudence" done by Siouxsie & The Banshees... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_Qe8d95vCc And how about Black Crows' version of Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09WlrVnramo Slightly obscure, but I thought No Doubt did a good take on Talk Talk's "It's My Life" which I always liked... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1phL7LxfEcs Take Me to the River Al Green (on Soul Train!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tgm7v284JI Talking Heads: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2ChrFeFZzY

The two most obvious ones were mentioned by Doc, Watchtower and I fought the law.
I also like the Flying Lizards version of Money. |
