Default Dodgers versus Phils

http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/ne...t=.jsp&c_id=la

As far as I'm concerned, you need to keep from getting behind in this series. The Dodgers are a frontrunning team. This means if they get a few breaks etc., then they can look pretty good. A few bad breaks (like losing game 1 would be,) and their bats tend to go really cold, and their middle relief is not nearly as loyal in those situations. That's the biggest difference between the 2 teams (Dodgers do quit when they start to see it sliding away.) So, you can't start the mediocre Randy W in game 1. Got away with that average sht last series. He's nothing special. Kershaw needs to start game #1. Randy in game #2. Padilla/Kuroda etc. Leave that dogsht Billygirl at home. Use Garland if a starter can't get out of the early innings. The series will be determined by the start the Dodgers get. Same as last series did. If they get things going their way, they will be tough. A slow start for them will almost certainly lead to the Phillies rolling. The Dodgers are a streak team. Colorado reminded them exactly how to get beat by the Phils (pitch like a scared lil bitch trying to hit corners.) Street not only missed corners, but he also got pinched a couple times. If Broxton does that cute stuff, then he will also come down the middle and get destroyed. Throw strikes like a man who wants to challenge them, or you're going home. Get behind in the count, and you're going home.

If he doesn't want to challenge them from the 1st pitch on, then they can probably forget it. That finesse bullsht needs to go.

who cares that no one had them getting by St Louis. That is the past. This is gonna be a tough series. I say it goes 6 or 7 games and I wont predict a winner.

Chuck, the Colorado series was a LOT tougher after game one. We got a lil lucky there being able to crush Street like that. That and our batters are SO clutch. I'm hoping Manuel goes back to remembering how to coach, because it seemed to me like he coached a poor series with all the crazy pitching changes. Why the F do you take Cliff Lee out in the 8th last night? He was destroying the Rockies. It wasnt his fault there were runners on 1 & 2nd with 1 out, he got Helton to hit into a double play and Rollins errored. The inning should have either been over or a guy on 1st with 2 outs. And Charlie takes Lee out and Madson has a meltdown. How much you wanna bet if Charlie left Lee in that we would have got out of the inning without giving up any runs?

Happy for Lidge but I will not trust him at all for the remainder of his games. Glad his slider is working again though.

And no offense gales and Scuds, but I dont worry too much about Hamels when he is facing the Dodgers. He always pitches well against them and earlier this year I'm pretty sure he threw a complete game shutout against LA.. his best pitching performance of the year.

no offense taken , but , remember linda rice a couple of weeks ago couldn't lose , now she can't win and her horses are running against the same horses , if you think hamels is the same pitcher as he was last year or even in the begining of this well then you are hoping rather than thinking , if the rockies could hit him , the dodgers certainly can now too

I don't know if they can hit him. I wish they would, but they've pretty much been a bunch of his bitches.

Kershaw pitches game one, Kuroda game 2. Wolf starts game 3 in Philly.

I'm going thursday to watch first blood being drawn.

i think mlb and tv would love to see joe play the yankees

i would rather see the dodgers play the yankees because of the above

now that being said the worst possible matchup for tv purposes would be the phillies vs the angels ......dodgers vs yankees would blow all other combos off the charts

I think there is as good of chance fore a phillies/angels series as there is for a dodgers/yankees. I really think the Angels will beat New York.

damn.. thats like a normal day here in ocala.. actually it would be more like 95 degrees with 82% humidity.

SoCal weather is the best. Just the traffic and cost of living really sucks.
