Default I thought this was intriguing...

The fact that they are even considering the Classic says a lot about the horse IMO.

Awesome Gem is being considered for the Classic. What does that say about him? No horse with four legs should be thrown out of consideration on the junk track. Godolphin should consider Music Note for the Classic too.

There was a drf plus article about a month back comparing Awesome Gem to Volponi... Talking about how he could actually win the thing.

Anyway, as for Girolamo..... Godolphin never seems to rush there horses and off of 3 fairly easy races the fact that they are talking Classic tells me this horse is really good and has room for improvment still.

He could. Perfect running style to pull what many would consider a shocker, but I wouldnt. I'd actually bet Aweome Gem to win if he goes.

Girolamo would be a better play and I doubt he would be under 10-1.

I doubt very much Girolamo goes. 10/1, maybe. Depends on who else goes. I'm thinking more like 6/1-7/1 though, which is still really good if you like.
Awesome Gem will be no lower than 30/1 if he goes.

I highly doubt they run him in the classic and all all depends who goes, my point is... I would take 10-1 on Girolamo over 30-1 on Awesome Gem... I doubt its really going to matter... The 2 Euros look really tough, Rip and Master.

Gander and money are easily parted.

I just got some inside info from a Dter.... Hockey2315 told me Music Note might go in the Classic, and she cant get beat if he does. He said she will improve off her 107 Beyer last out and win it for fun. He says she will LOVE the distance.

Just like she loved 10F when she couldn't get by Proud Spell in last year's Alabama?

I was a big fan of this filly last year, from the time she won a NW1X allowance at Belmont last May. IMO, she was better last year. Her Beldame win over Unbridled Belle was fairly ordinary (I don't care what the figure was), and she won a five-horse Ballerina in which neither Indian Blessing nor Informed Decision did much running.

I never said I liked her... I was just reporting what I was told. As for her being better last year, I get your point, but I think most would strongly disagree, her last 2 races were back to back career tops. Faster then anything she did as a 3yr old.

I agree with you for the most part, on everything you say, especially the bolded. But I thought Music Note's 2nd to Proud Spell in the Alabama was terriffic and probably her best race ever.

Steve, you cannot ban this guy. I used to watch Comedy Central and post on here at the same time. Now, I can turn the tv off.

I dont agree at all. I thought her last race was very ordinary by her standards. Her win at Saratoga was awesome but I think a lot of it had to do with track condition and the fact that Informed Decision just isnt a dirt horse.

Im a beyer guy, the 107 was a career top. I think her top as a 3yr old was a ordinary 102? If that high....

She got a 107 in that race? That means Unbridled Belle got like a 105-106? I wasnt visually impressed but glad she got it done.

It fits.... UB has ran that before on easy leads... She had a easy lead, but this time ran into a filly who is getting really good. I would bet Music Note at 6-1 in the Distaff vs Zenyatta.

Her Beyer that day was very difficult to make, I'm sure, because of the rain that hit right after her race but visually that was the best race Music Note ever ran by a spectacular margin. Maragh was not into her much, if at all, in the final quarter and she was moving pretty strongly when she hit her stride.

Unbridled Belle has always been a mediocrity to some extent but it's not like she gave Music Note any trouble. She was passed in no time once MN was in high gear.

I don't know what her chances are in the BC but I'll take the last two races she's run over any of her 2008 efforts.
