By Indian Charlie and out of the Halo mare Shahalo, My Pal Charlie retires with three wins in 20 starts for Spendthrift Farm owner B. Wayne Hughes and trainer Al Stall Jr. He earned $762,519.

Welcome Back to the Bayou State! I first saw My Pal Charlie as runnerup in 2008 Louisiana Derby. He finished nicely behind Pyro. Later, I saw his career best race in Super Derby.

I agree that he should attract interest from Louisiana breeders.

Always enjoyed that horse. I hope he does well. Thanks Steve.

If anybody breeds a mare to him or ends up with a yearling at some point, I already have you a name. Cheer Up Charlie (from the Willy Wonka movie). The name always reminds of that song. Nobody's used it from what I can tell so unless there's a copyright thing, don't see why it wouldn't work.
