I don't believe this will help the horse industry in any way, and besides, the holy rollers are finished fighting yet.

If the Ohio pols work anywhere near the way the MD pols do, don't expect much to happen anytime soon. A full year after slots were approved by the MD voters, a whopping 2300 machines have been licensed in MD.

Once the facilities are up and running, that should add an average of $87.50 to each purse.....

This wasn't a vote for slots at tracks, this was for full blown casinos in , i think, 5 big cities.
Horses are not in play.

While I may be a current resident I will not be by end of the year, therefore I did not vote. Why vote when I will not be a resident in 2010?

This is funny, Ohio Horsemen will get little to nothing out of this Casino deal and who really wants to keep misery running (read the link on drf)? Its funny, I have not been to Beulah since it opened last month, don't care. I got a few pals, whatever but I don't care to be surounded by misery, and that is what Beulah Park is. Miserable Horses, Trainers, Owners, Gamblers, etc etc etc..

I'm movin to sunny Florida, away from miserable Grove City and Columbus, Ohio.

I predict by the time that casino opens by where the Blue Jackets play in 2012 Beulah will be long gone. Lets hope that they don't prolong the misery.

Please, move all parties involved to better places in the Ohio Horse Racing Industry - other states.

Why does NY need slots Mdn Spl's go for a reasonable 45k and the purses are 85 to 90% of slot tracks..

How about they ice the purses if they do get the criminal slots in place and invest the money in the backstretch? While Belmonts Barn area is heaven on a July morning, surely a poly track that trainers can use thru the winter makes sense, and clearly if the Big A is not going to become apt. housing the barn area needs major improvement.

Because the law says they are entitled to a license?
