Q-School Final Results
The 6th and final round of the final stage of Q-school was today. Troy Merrit was low qualifier at 23 under par. I've never even heard of him. He's a 24 year old from the Nationwide Tour.
Jeff Maggert finished 2nd. Twenty year old Rickie Fowler, who looks like an up and coming star, got his card. He finished 15th. David Duval did very poorly. He finished 90th. Here is the complete leaderboard: http://www.pgatour.com/qschool/leaderboard/ |

It is top 25 and ties. It was brutal watching the James Hahn guy have a 8-10 footer on 18 to get his tour card, only to 3 putt.
Former Ryder Cup member Chris Riley tried his hardest to choke it away today, but managed to hang on. Josh Broadway starts the final round T-11 and fires a smooth 78 to finish T-40. 2 players stepped up and showed some sack today. Shane Bertsch started the day T-50 and threw a 65 at 'em to finish T-15. Cameron Triangale started T-42 and shot 67 to finish T-19. Duval playing poorly this week isn't really gonna affect him. He finished the year 130 on the money list. Between that and him already being exempt for 3 of the majors next year, he will still get into plenty of tournaments in 2010. |

Tom Pernice really blew it. He double-bogeyed the last hole to miss it by a stroke. I'm sure he'll still get into plenty of tournaments. In addition, I'm sure he'll play plenty of senior tour events. He just turned 50 a few months ago. This is the first time he's lost his card in about 11 years or so. Hey GPK, What do you think of Rickie Fowler? The guy is only 5'9, 135 lbs. but he kills the ball. He hits it really long. I think he's going to do well. He's totally fearless. |

It used to be top 35 and ties but now it is 25 & T's and 10 spots also go to the Nationwide (or whatever it is now called) tour.

I'm happy for my friend Danielle Downey, who avoided having to go back to Q School. She got a medical exemption for this year after she sliced her hand open while making dinner back in June and was unable to play for the rest of the season.
They're touting the UK grad Mallory Blackwelder pretty hard around here, her mother is the women's golf coach at UK and she earned conditional status on tour for 2010. Her results back up the hype...

Her Mom played on tour for a while. Got paired with her one year in Toledo at the Jamie Farr. Her Dad has caddied out there for a long time. He spent a lot of time looping for Kerr, but i'm not sure if they are still together or not. |

If she could even putt marginally, she would win 3-5 times a year. |
