Maybe it was because of his last race?

American Lion is nice and all, but at this point he wants no part of LAL, the connections made the right move skipping and pointing to next year.

Very interesting to see Wildlee Special in here. I made him a "buzz" horse for Horseplayer NOW after his maiden win at Meadowlands. Thought it was a sensational performance, and extremely visually impressive, but never thought a Grade I would be his next stop.

Think he'll turn out to be a really good one.

He could turn out to be really good, it is Dutrow.
I dont see it though, what was so impressive about his maiden win? He already had 2 starts, both times he kinda just clunked up, then he gets a dream run and beats a decent at best group of only 6. I also realize the 2-4 finishers all came back to run well, but none of them really ran fast.

It was one of those races I couldn't describe enough to have it make sense.

It was just visually stunning to me.

Broke last early, passed all but the front pair from way back with just about no urging, accelerated up the rail when a hole opened, and won going away under a hand ride.

I wouldn't have ever once considered calling that a "dream run." Had he been in that pocket spot, 3rd behind the top pair the whole way, then yea. But he gave the leaders 8-10 lengths and drew even with them without really being asked in a matter of 3/16 of a mile, and won easily on a track that's by and large, a speed/presser-favoring one.

I get that it wasn't the toughest bunch, and that it was at Meadowlands, but have you never seen a race where you watch a horse do something that surprises you in how easily he/she does it, and you just say "wow?"
