No wonder racing is a mess
Can anyone 'splain why the only track with multiple stakes races tomorrow, Fair Grounds is NOT in the east coast edition of thr DRF? Turfway, which rarely makes the Saturday ed. is in there but FG, which has several decent open stakes and the carryover state bred stakes from last weekend is absent.
I know alot of folks just download what they want for for the "weekend warrior" who splurges to buy the entire print edition for Saturday, is this not a rip-off? FG has a nice card for Saturday and Cap OTB will show it on a replay basis but without it in the Form we wont handle nearly as much on it. The strange thing is that FG was in there last weekend with the restricted stakes.

That DRF weekend insert is a complete joke.

DRF is offering a new way to market/promote state-bred days which has been very successful thus far. Last weekend they pumped-up the FG races only to have the storms hit and cause problems. They probably did not anticipate this situation where a few of the races would carry over.
That said, track placement in the DRF is a big driver of handle, we see it here at LAD all the time. Should be it? No... but there's so much racing, they have to draw lines somewhere. |
