DRF|NYRA cuts Belmont/Saratoga stakes schedule

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - As part of its objective to cut $4.3 million in stakes purses from last year, the New York Racing Association trimmed a total of approximately $1.4 million from its stakes program for the Belmont spring/summer and Saratoga meetings, according to a schedule that was released Thursday.

The whole thing makes me want to cry. There are some significant changes and cuts that are being made to some pretty nice races.

yeah; times are rough all over.

What's next for NYRA, actually USING their turf courses?

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

They'd go bankrupt before they stopped taking races off (if even a drop of moisture was found).

I'm still waiting for WO to cutback.

Not a big fan of the added days and I think '08 had the best schedule. (granted money is limited)

Things are "tough all over"........
I get this crap pumped into my head everywhere I go; the state I live in, the county I work at & NOW the sport I love!
