George Bush has degrees from Harvard and Yale...so much for that argument. Besides, athletic ability has nothing to do with intellect, otherwise TO would be selling used cars. I think Tiger is the greatest ever but I would never speak badly about as great a champion and role model as Jack! Tiger has modeled himself after the Golden Bear and has great respect for him, as should we all! Tiger's play the last two majors is indeed the stuff of legends...he plays a different game than everyone else!

You point out my lazy writing. Why now? Could it be because Annie Oakley is in the house?

I hope Tiger doesn't take his kids into the forrest to show them how to kill animals.I hope he doesn't copy Jack(in that way.)

NO,I simply don't get off on killing animals like you do.That is the big difference between us.You can characterize it any way you want, but it will always come back to the fact that you enjoy seeing animals die(from you killing them,)and I don't.

I agree with you 100%. It's amazing how someone could actually get pleasure out of killing a living, breathing animal. I don't get it.

LOL..She rarely comes in here to the sports section, but was baited in by the anti-hunter comment about Nicklaus. So she put herself into the argument by saying she does the dirty work(the killing.)Why come in as the hunter representative, and stoke the fire in the 1st place? Some of us will never see the thrill in killing animals.Obviously others don't understand why everybody doesn't enjoy it.I just lack that desire to shoot animals that are being peaceful in the forrest.

Scuds- You dont find dressing up as GI Joe and sitting in a tree stand for 8 hours at the crack of dawn, all to get one shot a poor defenseless animal, rewarding and fun? You know what I wish? I wish the animals could shoot back and get rid of some of the people pulling the triggers. That would be fair. Then you may see some of these drunken baffoons actually take what they are doing seriously. BANG! POW!

I think you would judge me if you thought I was doing something really sick that was hurting people. This isn't just a matter of taste. I don't judge people with different tastes than me. I thoroughly believe in the expression "different strokes for different folks". But in the case of hunting, we're not talking about some harmless hobby.

Just because hunting is legal, that doesn't necessarily make it morally alright. If I told you that I liked to beat up women, would you think it was alright as long as I was never arrested for it. There are actually some sickos out there that will pay women to beat them up. They don't get arrested because the women agree to it. If I was into something sick like that, I'll bet that you would judge me.

I think it is fair game to judge someone who is inflicting cruelty on others. I'm probably not going to judge someone who has some weird, harmless hobby. But I would judge someone who is doing something really mean such as killing an animal for enjoyment.

By the way, I don't think that me, Scuds, or Gander are trying to be mean. We really believe that hunting is cruel and is not right. We ae just telling you how we feel.

You have always been someone that seems to be fairly outspoken. If I was engaging in some activity that you thought was really cruel and wrong, I'm sure you would tell me.

Like I said,it's the only thing I don't like about Jack Nicklaus. I could only kill something if it was trying to hurt somebody.Adrenaline would kick in,and I could do it.

There is nothing wrong with hunting if you eat the food. As long as you are hunting non-endangered animals like deer, or elk (especially out in the Rockies where I live, people go many months eating their elk they have been liscensed to hunt.) It is much healthier than farm raised and drugged cattle as well. I agree some of the "sport" hunting of released caged animals which are basically tame is insidious and basically immoral, but there is nothing wrong with proper hunting at all (in my opinion).

Don't normally like this writer, but Scoop Jackson at ESPN.com has a great article on Tiger Woods. Pretty good explanation of the "Tiger phenomona"
