Hoax?
I'm not sure if this is a hoax or for real. If it's real, it could be great.

DTS: here's hoping it's for real!!! What a break for civilzation. Is that too bold a statement??

But I kdo now they run those high speed trains on "mag-lev" technology. I'm sure it's not the same but if they can dgenerate enough energy to do that it seems they could make, say, a toaster operate without electricity. |

If this company was for real they would not have called it energy free. There is no such thing. Of that, I am 99.999999% sure. That is a purposely vague article put out by that company.
Sorry to be a cynic, but it sounds like total BS. The key to all of this stuff is converting one form of energy into another form of energy that is used by our current technology without a lot of wasted energy. Efficient conversion of energy from one form to another... Thats what its all about. An amazing application of this is using the energy in arm motion while walking to wind watches, even though it is far from efficient. It is taking a form of energy that we did not think was easily used, and getting a little something out of it. Same with the Kinetic flashlights, they are really cool. When we first discovered superconductivity (some metalloid type alloys conduct electricity with ZERO resistance, or the loss of electrical energy by conversion to heat), we thought we had hit upon a huge discovery that was the real deal, and it was. The only problem was in order to get these alloys to become superconductive they had to be at extraordinarily low temperatures, and to get these extraordinarly low temperatures we had to use energy to pump heat out. RATS, foiled again. In certain applications though, superconducivity has become very important, but it is just not widespread as we once had hoped. You dont get something for nothing in the physical world. |
