Its at Fairmount Park in Collinsville, Illinois which makes it central time zone. Here is the field which has been announced on Fairmounts website because the PP draw was today, but its not up on DRF yet...

1. Smokeyjonessutton (M. Mena) - 30/1
2. Sweet Grass Creek (R. Hernandez) - 30/1
3. General Darby (A. Valazquez) - 30/1
4. Lawyer Ron (J. McKee) - 2/1
5. More Than Regal (S. Bridgmohan) - 5/1
6. Lewis Michael (R. Douglas) - 3/1
7. Cielo Gold (B. Hernandez Jr.) - 6/1
8. Like an Eagle (C. Marquez) - 15/1
9. Casino Evil (F. Torres) - 8/1
10. Kid Lemonade (S. Elliott) - 8/1
11. Starspangled Gator (C. Lanerie) - 10/1
12. Follow the Storm (K. Clark) - 15/1

Not sure when post time is...

Not sure when the post time is, but Fairmount usually runs at night. I assume this is because it is more difficult to see what a crap-hole the place is in the dark.
But a field of 12 including Lawyer Ron? Not bad at all for a track of that caliber.

Yeah it is for real. The purse was privately funded and with the interest and a 12 horse field, you gotta believe 1) they are thrilled and 2) they are probably going to continue this.

Arlington can even get a 12 horse stakes race on the dirt, sickening that Fairmount can..

Is Fairmont a half mile track sort of like Fairplex in LA? A bull ring?

Well it is for a quarter million dollars. You should expect decent horses for that purse. Still, they had hoped to get Steppenwolfer and the West Point horse. It could've been better quality than the Arky Derby with those two in.

Yeah, but Lawyer Ron, Lewis Michael, even Kid Lemonade, those aren't terrible horses at all. You'd expect to see them running graded races.

The St. Louis Derby has been run for at least 45 years ... I believe at different tracks ... but it's been around for a long time. I remember it being run at Cahokia Downs in the early 1960's.

You need to get out more.

Default LM and CG

Lewis Michael and Cielo Gold will be MAJOR handfulls for Lawyer Ron in this race, and I'm a big fan of Lawyer Ron. I'm guessing LR will be 2/1 and you should be able to get 4/1 on LM and 8/1 on CG.

Nope, one mile oval with chutes for 6f and 10f, according to the American Racing Manual. St. Louis area was a big racing venue back in the 1890s, but the anti-vice people got to it not long thereafter (about the same time racing killed in New York for 2 years and in California for a couple of decades).

Another cut-and-paste job ... but that's OK ... every forum needs a gopher to empty the wastebaskets.

You are quite rude, but I think you know that.
