If you put out a list like that on the "other" forum ...

... you'd be banned for life.

The hyenas and goo-goos would go nuts over leaving out BOTH Smarty Jones and Barbaro.

You'd be crucified. "Don't you have a heart? People are hurting!" ...

... yeah ... that's about the way it would go

(Pretty good list though.)

Lots of folks now are vastly overartin' Bernardini as they do when a 'orse wins a big race, now I aint sayin' 'es a bad egg, just there may be some better eggs out there, one 'orse I really like is Lava Man & me thinks this 'orse would wax Bernardini & Invasor, and me 'opes he does because it would get plenty of people to shut their damn mouths and running it like a spickets, when they's still being able to recall the days in which they couldn't wipe their own arses...That Jerry Bailey is one old geezer who should shut 'is damn mouth from running so much, saying Bernardini beat the bluegrass cat by 7 and a 'alf, and Barbaro only beat the bluegrass cat by 6 and a 'alf, so that makes Bernardini better, 'ats a bunch of shat really...Sinister Minister beat the bluegrass cat by 20 so maybe he should be the best 'orse out there by that logic...me thinks them are some good 'orses Seattle named, and if a 2/5 can still win with Jerry backin 'im well he's got to be something special then

How bout some love for Silver Charm? He didn't blow you away, but that guy had as much heart as any horse I've seen. Derby, Preakness, and Dubai at 4 among others.

Skip Away was very, very good, but Formal Gold crushed him twice and would likely have won the BC in 97 if not for an injury. His three race streak that summer posted Beyers in the mid 120's.

C'mon folks ...

... it's tough enough to compare American dirt champions from different years ... without throwing foreign turf horses into the mix.

Whyncha make two lists ... or something?

Charmie wasnt just one of those horses you would label a superhorse, he was a wonderful gritty horse who won his share of races, and being a KY Derby/Dubai World Cup winner. But I wouldnt say hes in the top 10, for the way he just went off form in the latter years, same would go for Real Quiet

Cigar should clearly make the list but I was unsure if he made the ten-year cut off.

I like this list but I will throw out the Euros and Barbaro and add Mineshaft. Bernardini is to be watched and Candy Ride is clearly not in. So I got to think further. This is a no particular order list for me if GZ is on the bottom. Forgot Azeri, she is definite.

1) Skip Away (hands down my number one)

Rest are in no particular order:

2) Tiznow
3) Empire Maker
4) Point Given
5) Perfect Drift (may not be win wise, but for longevity and I think he belongs on the list)
6) Ghostzapper
7) Cigar
8) Victory Gallop
9) Afleet Alex
10) Gorella (not at the top yet, but getting there.)

Just my two cents worth.

Perfect Drift....hummmm! How about Zippy Chippy he ran twice as many races as PD, and that horse in England with over 130 starts I think?

Does Zippy Chippy have as much money won? Does Zippy Chippy run in Grade 1 races and finish in the money in them? COME ON give my boy some respect.

I did make sure not to put RH10 on the list since I figured you all would bash me some. I didn't think Drifty would offend.
