Default social secuirty

How do we fix the long term underfunding problem of this entitlement program?

Do we raise the retirement age?

Do we raise the cap (i think you only pay on the first 97k of your salray) ?

Do we raise the percentage and leave the cap in place? I think the rate is 6.2% now what rate do we make

Do we offer younger workers the ability to invest some of the $ in the stock market?

Does anybody think that nothing has to be done and the current system in place is fine?

Wow such a simple solution. How do you suppose we handle the millions of destitute people that become of eliminating social security?

I agree, but more importantly it is a ponzi scheme, mathematically impossible to sustain, and should be eliminated on that basis alone. The political decision by FDR is not so sacrosanct that we must continue this madness forever. It doesn't wash.

Is that 40, or a day over 40, or the day you turn 41. Just asking so I' ll know what side of this issue I'm on.

it isn't a long term underfunding problem. it's a problem that exists temporarily while my generation dies off.

just wait.

how long?

just kidding...but i was listening to a guy on the radio talking about the population, demographics, baby boomers, etc. it was interesting. the largest year group? people age 50. but the second largest year? age 20. i have noticed more and more that gloom and doomers get press, just like every generation tends to think the next one is dumber and we're all doomed.
