I don't know if it will make an appreciable change over the long haul, but I'd like my local track to try it out. I would certainly support it at the windows.

Satish Sanan has discussed this concept for a year on ATR. He included on-track player rebates prominently as part of the TOBA steering committee industry initiative which was recently scuttled (to his great dismay as heard Wednesday)..

It's the right kind of idea.

On-track rebates make more sense from a track's perspective because they don't have to split up the hold like they would a simulcast dollar. I hope this works for them, and other tracks can follow suit.

I think it's a great idea. Good reason for the tracks to get people there and betting into those pools.

Honestly, the takeout should be lower at the track and higher for the ADW's (due to more middlemen getting a piece of it).

Tracks that make tens to hundreds of millions of dollars off of casino gaming should be trying something like this to make their racing product more attractive. Being that racing revenue is only a small portion of their overall revenues you would think that more tracks would be willing to experiment like this.
