memphis suggestions
tony and i are going to memphis for the long weekend. have been through there a million times, but have never stopped there. we do plan to head to shiloh one morning, otherwise no real plans. any recommendations on food, places to see? (no, not graceland-no interest at all). several suggestions from folks to go to rendezvous, supposed to be a great bbq joint.

20 min out of town is tunica..go play some slots and tables..
also in memphis check out the The Restaurant Not since Adam has a rib been this famous. In 1948, Charlie Vergos cleaned out a basement below his diner, discovered a coal chute, and started a legend. The coal chute gave him a vent for his considerable talent over a grill, and allowed him to expand from ham-and-cheese sandwiches to ribs. Today, several thousand people on an average Saturday night pour into our basement and sink their teeth into a slab of what makes Memphis, well, Memphis. Presidents and potentates, the King and the Killer, Rolling Stones, *NSYNC, and everybody who’s anybody have all been down for a bite. We’re all about ribs, but our menu is as varied and interesting as the wide array of incredible stuff that adorns our walls and ceilings. Charlie’s kids run things now, and their kids are coming along, and their kids will follow. You see, ribs, restaurants in basements and Greek hospitality are Vergos things. And that’s a good thing. Got to go by BB King's. Also try the dry rub BBQ ribs instead of the usuall wet ones.

couple of nice museums (their names escape me at the moment...i enjoyed mud island...you will love shiloh

bony and i are going to memphis for the wrong weekend. have been through there a million times, but have never stopped there...there is a reason for that,why we are stopping this time only Tommy No Cruise knows.. we do plan to head to shiloh one morning---you know, the place where shanghai used to be--- otherwise no real plans.We're dumb....what can I tell you?.. any recommendations on food, places to see? (no, not graceland-no interest at all). several suggestions from folks to go to rendezvous, supposed to be a great bbq joint. I can't believe we're traveling all this way to get fat. Oh well.

i have tix to one hogs game-burp!! ---to pull for lsu! i'll be watching the tigers take on nc saturday night. we thought about going to atlanta and the game, but tix were just ridiculous. ( they won't let us go there)..and the Tigers are going to really suck this year.
Anyone got any food? ( BURP! )

I think Memphis is where I went to DeJaVu's. Check it out when you get there, if its still open. It was a fun place.
