WOW, Nice field. I think Tagg will scratch FC if most of the major players run. This spot looks a bit tough for him.

This is what passes for big? Hmmmmm ...

Somehow ... I really don't think it compares with past Woodwards ...

... like Seattle Slew, Exceller ...

... or Damascus, Dr. Fager, Buckpasser, and Handsome Boy ...

... or Sword Dancer, Round Table, and Hillsdale ...

... but ... we can still sit back and try to enjoy it ... for what it is.

The General Douglas MacArthur ... Belmont ... September 8 ... 8f ... $100,000 ... NY-bred ...

... that's the perfect spot!

Big as in they did not bring in some show horse from some Claimer race to run or even a turf horse to make it a 5 horse race like some Stakes races have been this year

I think you're right (about Funny Cide) if it's 80 and sunny on the race day. If it's kinda cool, maybe a lil overcast or even rainy, he's gonna run, and could run big. But with that said Sun King should take care of Flower Alley and the rest of this field. I guess there's always a chance his "Jekyl and Hyde" ass could lose, but it's doubtful.

Nice little field right here. A travers Winner, a Derby and Preakness winner and a horse who lost to Invasor by a nose. A very nice field.

But only one of those things happened this year.

Maybe they should show some old videos ... instead of actually running the race.

Toga this weekend should be cool enough for Funny Cide. I think we'll see him in the Woodward unless something happens betwixt now and then.

Andromeda's Hero, Suava, and Wanderin Boy are all graded winners this year, aren't they?

Man, do people love to kill the handicap division around here.

I guess this is about as good as a field gets these days. Will wanderin boy be alone in the front? Im sure Pletcher wouldnt run Flower Alley back like this unless he was pretty confident. Sun king is always there these days.

Could it be anything else but those three in the lights?

I'm going to guess that either Flower was shorter than Todd thought he was or that he had a minor issue that was corrected. If hes on his game he should beat these like a drum. Problem with Sun King is that he has shown a tendency to bounce off his hard races.

thanks. From watching Pletcher over the years, i have never seen him run them back quickly after a loss to have the horse perform poorly again. What do you think of wanderin boy? i dont see anything here that can run with him early and i figure he hangs on for at least a piece. I havent studied the race yet but from what ive seen it looks like these horses.
