"A gift from God" should be the HOY . A miraculous filly , 30 lengths back , unbeaten in her career except for a long nose in the greatest of all races this year .

Haynesfield, 22 3/4 L behind the leaders at the finish of the BC, beat Blame by 4L in the JCGC . Blame is 13-9-2-2 lifetime . 5-4-1 this year. The defending BC champion Zenyatta loses her only race ever by a nose to Blame coming from 30L back . 20-19-1 lifetime, 6-5-1 this year . Clearly Zenyatta is HOY .

Wonderful read, thanks for posting.

(although I think the part about her submitting to Blame for breeding sounds like Sumitas wrote it)

I was just going to comment on that.
I almost threw up a little in my mouth after reading that paragraph.

So, a horse that has won no open Grade 1s all year, and is beaten on the track by another horse that is now 3 out of 4 in open Grade 1s this year, should be HOY ahead of him. Remember, each horse has lost only one race this year.

If the name was not Zenyatta, no horse racing fan in their right mind would make this argument. This is cultish behavior. Act like frigging adults already.

She lost by a nose and Blame lost by 4 L to the horse that finished 22 3/4 L behind both in the BC .

Kris S is the broodmare sire of Zenyatta and the grandsire of Blame .

And she would have lost that same race by 15 lengths on that lone-f pace scenario. You can't possibly be as big an idiot as you pretend to be, not if you still know how to breathe.

Default geez..

the original post was for everyone to enjoy the prose put forth by Luck
It was not intended to become ANOTHER battlefield for pro con Zenyatta.

By the way the inbreeding pattern looks ok

Whose inbreeding, richard's?

Lovely prose is a fine thing, so long as it is not a mask for illogic. Just move on already.

OK, we'll decide things like racing is a petting zoo contest.

Which animal is our most favorite, boys and girls?

Yes, he is very pretty when his groom ties a ribbon on his tail.

Oh wait--you mean the horse.

I agree...this logic is even dumber than most of the Pro-zenyatta threads (and I'm not a basher at all, just a realist).
Using this same logic, how wide of a margin do you think Blame would crush Rinterval or or any of the other allowance-level fillies that Zenyatta squeaked by this year? It's all irrelevant.

Bob Dylan would be proud.

Nice one.

Inadvertent, sorry. I have loved that song since I was about 14 (when it came out), so it is deeply ingrained, I guess.

Forgive me, Zimmerman!

Now she was 30 lengths back? Stick to posting about Finger Lakes and Golden Missile.

She was 50 lengths back. Went 20 wide. Up the hill. Both ways. In the snow. Against 100 mph winds.......
