Default handicapping ?-drf charts???

do any of you guys/gals look at the drf post race charts? i printed off all of Keen and am in the process of printing off CD races as they go and looking at fractions, post positions running styles that won on those days etc etc but does this really lead to anything in your experience? Are the horses that run good clobbered next time they run odds wise b/c the infor is out there?

DRF Formulator lets you view past races directly from the PP's. Unless looking for say horses coming out of a 'key' race that finished 4rth or worse the hard copy charts are pretty much obsolete. IMO

Problem with PP's is that you don't get the context of the race. As flawed as the results charts are (accuracy is of secondary importance to speed in making them) they, at least, give you a context. (Personally, I like to have an idea as to the TYPE of race a horse is coming out of.) Which means, you can MODEL from the charts. Which means you can pretty much do any of the things you do with figures with them. But they're FREE and why would anyone want to rely on them when they can pay for someone else's data and get to use all those cool tools that probably come with it? And, get to be part of a group (for no added charge).

Don't let Dave Schwartz in on any of this.

Why pay for gas in a race when you can put up a sail for free?
