When the NFL announced that Nike would be replacing Reebok as the league's official uniform provider starting in 2012, most people expected for there to be changes to the designs.

Nike is pretty progressive with their designs and said they were planning dramatic changes, but the early leaks of their work (pictured at left) are a somewhat radical and a shocking change from the current edition.

They are all very futuristic looking. Some are okay and most are pretty bad. But if these do come to fruision, it will probably be on a very limited basis. Kind of like when the teams have throwback days a couple of times a year. They will break out the future jerseys (hopefully only) once a season.

The Lions jersey looks relatively unchanged. Some of those are awful though. A few more links are on this page:

I actually kinda dig them, but only as alternate/third unis. If these become the every week uniforms, there'll be a riot.

I wouldn't hate the Jets one as a third uni, mainly because I've been waiting for them to use the 80s/early 90s Jets helmet script as a throwback instead of those dumbass New York Titans ones.

Could you imagine the mutiny in Pittsburgh if the Steelers suddenly stopped wearing a helmet with the Steelers logo?

And what looks like a gay pride flag on their left sleeve.

This is a region that likes understated jerseys. Penn State, Ohio State - Pittsburgh, Cleveland ... some of the high schools around here go out of their way to keep their uniforms as dull as possible.

Gay pride? It's the Colombian flag. Why, I have no idea.

Isn't the three colors the same within the Steeler logo? It is what it looks like to me.

They aren't going to look like this, like you said, these will be 3rd uniforms, maybe for big TV games or something special.

There are teams in the NFL that haven't changed their jerseys since the inception of time, and I am sure they have had multiple producers through that time.
