The film follows the humorous adventures of a small, crooked-footed horse and his cowboy owners and trainer, who take to the highway in an unlikely bid to win America's premier horse race, The Kentucky Derby. Misfits in the regal world of Kentucky blue bloods, these charming rascals face multiple mishaps and obstacles along the way to the winner's circle.

Pre-production will commence in February 2011.

“His jaw is broken, and he’ll be out the rest of the meet; hopefully we’ll start back in Arkansas (at Oaklawn Park),” Hissam said. “The horse hit him under the chin when he was thrown.”

According to the agent, Aces N Kings’ stifle locked in the race. Hissam said he hadn’t yet had a chance to talk with trainer Henry Johnson Jr. about the colt’s condition.

“His rear end kind of went out from under him, and that’s what caused him to bolt and drop Calvin,” he said.
Borel was injured “where the joint meets in the upper jaw,” the agent said.

Borel also had a large laceration across his chin. He flew back from Louisiana on a private plane immediately following the accident and was hospitalized overnight in Louisville, where doctors were still determining whether surgery would be necessary.
