Gotta love when there are horses who are probable to a lock to go to race don't . O well guess Astrology with polycrap/turf horses and McPeek's 2nd stringer will do.

The race prior to this is an allowance for 2-year olds going a mile, and it drew a field of 12. I guess more people are being a little more conservative with their plans, even though there's really nobody to be scared of in the KY jockey club.

Ya I saw same thing-it was mentioned on Sunday that Rogue Romance, Trubs, Justin Phillip(Last 2 cause they didnt make the Jackpot) were definite for the race with Z Appeal and Brethern as possible.
That is a big reason I hate racing,I know they are trying to get more races for horses but damn. If they take that race out we would prolly have had Brethern,Justin Phillip and 1 more horse in the bigger race. |

Man, that was a weird ride on the 1, PrideoftheChapter, in the race against Astrology.
40/1, had the lead without any urging, and the jock sat chilly on him the whole way around, to the point he got distanced. |

That KY Jockey Club was a disgracefully bad race. If any of those horse make an impact next year I'll be stunned.

Was that Major Gain's first dirt start?

Yeah and Santiva's first since his debut.

I think you insulted Santiva somewhere.... I think you said he will make an impact in the turf race on the Oaks undercard. This was in response to me saying he is a Derby horse.

He's not a derby horse. . . or at least a derby contender.

He stinks. He is slow. He is not better then the Remsen winner, Uncle Mo and about 10 others I can think of. With that said, to call him not a contender IS SILLY.

So you think he'll run 12th? How does that make him a contender? Obviously he's a contender in the sense that he might show up in the starting gate off a Bluegrass run, but he's not a contender to actually win.

He stinks + He is slow = He is a contender

Wasn't that his exact analysis of Musket Man in the Cigar Mile? He just lost any credit he was due for that prediction.

Im talking a contender to be in the race. He now has a win over the track and graded earnings. He has a nice pedigree also.
Once your in the Derby, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. I think thats pretty obvious. |

I like him a lot. As you mentioned, that was a freaky run he put in at Monmouth. I thought he was going to win today, but not like that. I assume he's going to Santa Anita?
