I hope that Rule does well this year.
He was one of my early Derby picks last year so I still feel pretty bad that I jinxed him. Oh well... he's gotta do better than Itsallaboutthechase anyway. |

This card was a lot stronger last year than this year (even if the weather was the worst EVAH). I wonder why they choose not to go with a sprint card and more stakes again this year.

That whole day I felt like I was in NY and not FLA. The weather for the first month was 80% brutal.

I'm probably one of the only people thrilled to see Quindici Man and Dakota Phone in the same field, huh?
I really like those two. Not to win... just in general. |

Rule will need to be outstanding to beat Morning Line especially the way the Zito's are going. Morning Line is very good so far.

Not that I necessarily like him, but Rule ran big in the Florida Derby last year in a race that completely fell apart. He has legit talent.

I'd be happy to see him run a solid race, maybe a foundation on which to build a good year.

Mike Welsch warned of Little Mike's viability Friday on ATR and picked him on top..
Little Mike (J. Bravo) $27.80 $9.80 $6.80 Eighth Race 1. Little Mike 2. Get Stormy 3. Battle of Hastings LITTLE MIKE doesn't appear fast enough or classy enough to compete with the major names in this lineup but he is a lightly raced, improving young horse and loved the way he got over the course in a workout on Monday. Must avoid early duel with speedy GET STORMY but worth a look at big balloons in his present form. Get Stormy overmatched in his last pair but another who might like the local strip which seems to be favoring speed types thus far. BATTLE OF HASTINGS the richest member of the field by far and logical choice at what figures to be a fairly short price. Benefitted from a closers bias over CD turf winning the River City in his 2010 finale.
