Default The super awesome, big and shiny, new and improved...

... redboarding thread.

I have a question.

I've known some of you for years and, before I had a tvg account, would only play when I went to the track hence (I've never used that word in my life for the record) I would post it after the fact if I had a really good day.

Some of us do that or have done that.

No one ever doubted me. Not ever.

I'm prefacing my question with this because I guess it explains why someone who is pretty cynical would believe others.

So my question is this... when someone redboards on Nerdy Trail do you tend to believe it? Not believe it? Does it depend on the person? The amount? Your mood? If you know them or not?

I don't get along with everyone here but even the people who rub me the wrong way or who don't like me for whatever reason... I would believe every single one of them.

I don't believe for a second that any of you would come on here and lie about it.

Why would you?

Only someone seriously disturbed and pathetic would do that and none of you fit that description.

Besides... when you hit something big isn't it fun to share it (meaning your good news and not the )?

So what about you all?

I don't mean name names nor do I mean to imply this was inspired by anyone here. It was not.

In your heart of hearts when someone here redboards do you doubt them?

Believe nothing of what you hear, half of what you see, and everything that you read.

I hit a tri last night playing the Aussies for about $480, it was the only measurable hit I have had in about 2 months. To answer the question directly, I rejoice in those who have good fortune (if I like the person), and I could care less ( if I don't really care for that person). To you Geeker, I congratulate you in advance on that powerball win.

Agree.

I don't understand why there are always one or two sarcastic comments when it happens.

Probably because you have people here sharing their thoughts on races before the races actually happen. I also think it depends on the person. If it is someone that usually shares their thoughts, I'm happy for them (like Rudy the other day).

If it is someone who never does and always redboards what is the point?

Distracted, sorry, but I meant to say congrats!

Hossy I always hear about one person anyway who redboards all the time but gotta admit I've never noticed that this person does.

If Bigs or Bogey or someone who constantly posts their picks hits something of course, always, absolutely believe them.

What about the rest of us though?

What about the people who post some times but who hardly ever venture into the selections forum...

I believe those people as well because no way would they, well... I choose to believe that there's no way they'd post a complete lie anyway.

I can suck all year and then do well on BC day, post it, and no one questions me because I think people know I wouldn't bullshit about it.

How can I have a double standard?

I believe when people post that they have won, but I take it with a grain of salt depending on who it is. There are many people who post/discuss a large percentage of their picks. I respect those people reguardless of the result very much. First off it's time consuming and secondly it take some balls to put yourself and your opinion out there. But everyone sees the good and the bad, which unfortunatey happen more often. We have all seen our share of bloodbaths.

So when a person who never posts their picks publically comes out of nowhere and redboards a big winner, while I'm pleased that a member of the NT family has cashed a nice ticket, I can't help from wondering how much money that person has burned up between his or her last winner/redboard.

MMSC, your faith seems to be a lot stronger than mine about people in general. It's not about lying and I'm just not interested in getting into a long discussion about it.

I have to say it is a very humbling experience posting your picks in advance convinced they are winners only to see you were not even close. My hats off to those in the Selection thread that continue to post their picks win and lose. Every once in a while I post there - but I prefer to just play within my Xpressbet account so only me and the bank know how great my picks are

That's fine, Hossy.

Nice posts, MaTHie and Geekie.

I hear you with that last line.

It's funny how some people assume others don't play and they really have no idea how much they los... ooops... I mean how often they actually DO (play).

Did I ever mention that I hit the Giacomo-Closing Argument-Afleet Alex trifecta?
