![]() The Horse of the Year win by Zenyatta has provided such a boost to racing's popularity that NBC Sports, the network that carries 2/3 of the Triple Crown, has exactly ZERO mentions of the award on its website this morning.
But they do have one article about women's snowboarding. So, there's that. Seriously, the OJ jury must have somehow gotten 12 votes for HOY. And how did 2 voters NOT choose Uncle Mo? Seriously, if one of them voted for Zenyatta, they should be identified and publically chewed a new a$$hole. In an attempt to find an Obama-esque "teachable moment"....two years in a row, horses who were deemed to have been retired at the top of their game (Zenyatta in 2009 and Blame in 2010), lost HOY. (Yes, I know Z was unretired. But that was after votes were cast.) Perhaps some voters were sending a message????? |

![]() Other than Rachel, who was the last HOY who was NOT retired at the end of the campaign?

![]() Curlin came back in 2008, Invasor came back in 2007 but was ultimately injured in the middle of the year. Azeri came back in 2003 and had her worst year and Tiznow came back in 2001. Those are from the last decade or so.

![]() Yes, he did, shame on me for not remembering him. Zenyatta would have run him down with her ears pricked and Mikey pumping his fist.

![]() Well, as we all know, if given enough time and distance, there isn't a horse ever that Zenyatta couldn't have run down.

![]() She would still be undefeated if that meanie Blame and those other horses hadn't run off from her in the early part of the Classic.
