Default Oscars tonight....

Anyone watching out there? I only managed to see 6 of the 10 Best Picture nominees. I didn't think i would see a better film than The Social Network, until last night. The King's Speech is a superb film, the performances across the board are outstanding. Colin Firth deserves Best Actor, i would be shocked if he doesn't win that. Geoffery Rush is magnificent, although it would seem Christian Bale i believe is the fav, and i didn't see The Fighter, although i have heard raves about his work. Also, i picked him in a contest to pick the winners, but Rush wouldn't suprise me and it would be deserved of the performances that i have seen. I also as i mentioned in a previous thread enjoyed Winter's Bone, and the performances in that film, looks like a bit of an outsider tonight. But could be some suprises, who knows with the crazy Hollywood crowd!

Yeah I'm watching...family tradition. Haven't seen The King's Speech yet, but also hear from reliable friends that it is great. I love those kind of histroical movies (The Queen, Elisabeth, etc) so I'm sure I'll love it. If not for all the buzz on TKS I'd say The Social Network would be my choice. I REALLY loved Winter's Bone too, but I know theres no way it will win. Maybe Jenifer Lawrence will pull a big upset. Enjoy the show!

I just saw the King's Speach this morning. Amazing movie. I hope it wins best picture. Plus the cast was perfect. I think the movie has been nominated for 12 awards this evening.

Not yet, great film seemed like an underdog tonight though. Great performances in that film though, Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes were terrifc.

Default Trent Reznor.....

From Nine Inch Nails to Oscar Winner how about that. Great Score in The Social Network, can't argue with the choice.

Tina and I ran out to see 'The King's Speech' and 'The Fighter' over the last few days. Both outstanding and most deserving of the various Oscar accolades bestowed upon them Sunday. For me, 'King's Speech' was as good a film as I've seen in a very long time, and will have the enduring appeal a Best Picture requires. If you haven't seen it, try to get to it on the big screen as opposed to waiting for home viewing. It's the kind of film that needs to be watched in the intended setting.

I Have yet to see "The King's Speech" , but have seen "The Fighter".. Pretty good, but a bit too much for me at times. I was however glad to see Christian Bale win his first Oscar for he was simply fantastic in the part. (Good to see he put the weight back on )

As much as I enjoy both hosts acting talents, as hosts they did not shine. Ok they stunk in my eyes lol! The show was not a creative success at all. The guy who I would not mind being tabbed as host next year, made a nice little appearance last night and that is Kevin Spacey. I think he would be wonderful.

Steve I could not agree with you more. The King's Speech is a picture to be experienced in the theatre. The radio sequences alone were enhanced by seeing the film on the big screen, from an accoustic standpoint. Didn't you feel the attention to detail in this picture, was tremendous? The closing sequence, I don't bout you and Tina, but my wife and I had an adrenaline rush, leading up to and during the speech itself ? It was as thrilling to experience.

Every time I see her - whether in a movie or in person on tv - she puts me in mind of a 3-year old on too much sugar.
