Default Its gotta be the cheeks!

Except from the DRF Plus article on Juan Carlos Guerrero:

Quote:
"Most trainers touch the horse's knees with their hands to feel for heat, but your cheeks are more sensitive, so I get down and put my face next to the horse's knees to see if there is any slight difference in temperature," Guerrero said. "I also check the feet for a pulse to see if there might be the start of any kind of abscess."
LOL

Secrets of the Alchemist revealed....

Step #1: Clean the teeth

Step #2: Apply the right sized shoe

Step #3: Use your cheek instead of your hand to feel the horse

I don't think I'll be using my face to check for heat in horse legs, thanks ... I'm rather fond of my orbital bones and having vision.
