Default 3/18: Santa Anita (3rd-8th)

No matter how you get one, or how little it pays, it's always fun and rewarding to get through a P6 sequence. Yes it only brought back $250, (plus another $67 on consos).. and yes scratching into the winning post time favorite (The Zapster) was a back door method. But it's always a confidence booster. Hope some played along and did well. Was a little surprised the sequence 'chalked' the way it did as the races looked pretty fun and compelling.

Action at Santa Anita today is of near weekend level quality with a great Joe Hernandez down the hill and full field turf mile ALW as a co-feature. There are some nice MDN sophomore fillies on the hill to start the P6, and even the $10k 4th and $25k 6th are good events. Should be great fun and a great way to start a big spring weekend! Another 2 hour ATR today, before we return to 9a-12p Monday!

SANTA ANITA

POST-SCRATCHES

3rd: MSW, 6.5f-T (P6, P3, DD, Super)

Lightly-raced missies down the hill. Note Shirreffs' success with first and second time starters this course, and though the entry is 9-5 on the ML, you do get hot-working Yakteen debut gal as part of the deal..

Most Likely: #1e Kirkorian ownership entry 9-5 #1-WON/#1a-2nd ($3.60)
Next Best: #3 Candys Girl 8-5 2nd (for wagering)
Exotics Use: #2 Blue Grass Music 5-2 3rd (for wagering)
Super Add: #5 Lyrical 8-1 4th (for wagering)

4th: CLM, 4+, 6f (P3, DD, Super)

Most Likely: #2 Late SCR
Best Value: #6 Lord Avalon 4-1 WON ($9.40)
Next Best: #8 Belo Purse 3-1 2nd
Super Add: #4 Don Elias M. 4-1 4th

5th: Joe Hernandez, 4+, 6.5f-T (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Nice little Friday afternoon stake. Favored Regally Ready is the horse to beat but is too short to embrace fully..

Best Value: #4 Dilemma 5-1 7th
Most Likely: #5 Regally Ready 8-5 WON ($3.00)
Next Best: #1 Gallant Sun 6-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #6 Leroy's Dynameaux 8-1 2nd

6th: CLM, 3yo-F, 5.5f (P3, DD, Super)

Best Value: #6 Clubhouse Rules 4-1 4th
Next Best: #1 Gladiatrix 3-1 6th
Exotics Use: #4 Diamond Journey 4-1 5th
Super Add: #7 No Afillyation 7-2 WON ($6.40)

7th: ALW/N1X, 3yo, 1m-T (DD, Super)

Most Likely: #8 Akkadian 8-5 4th
Best Value: #4 Drink at Buster's 8-1 3rd
Next Best: #2 Ten Devils 5-2 7th
Super Add: #1 Major Art 12-1 WON ($21.00)

8th: MDN CLM, 3yo, 7f (Super. Super Hi-5)

Most Likely: #6 Answer to Abby 5-2 2nd
Best Value: #1 Bell Blitz 8-1 7th
Next Best: #10 Trastevere 4-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #8 Isthmus 3-1 WON ($6.20)
Hi-5 Play: #2 Our Senior Moments 5-1 4th

<$75 P6 Play:

3: 1-2-3
4: 2-6-8
5: 4-5
6: 6
7: 4-8
8: 6

3x3x2x1x2x1 = 36 x $2 = $72

<$75 P4 Play:

5: 1-4-5
6: 1-4-6
7: 1-2-4-8
8: 1-6-8-10

3x3x4x4 = 144 x .50 = $72

Good luck!

Be interesting to see how far Avila is willing to go with Berrio. 56k purse, Rosario doesn't have a mount, and you're getting beat bitter mini school. Push comes to Shove.

I was there today. He rode a great race. Saved all the ground, got through on the rail and was outfinished.
