KEEAPR - The War Front Show
From Thoroughbred Daily News:
Hip 5: An eyecatching colt from the second crop of War Front (Danzig) brought a final bid of $485,000 to top the early returns at Keeneland April Monday. Consigned by Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables, the dark bay had been picked up for $60,000 by John Savino at FTKOCT 2010. John Moynihan, bidding on behalf of Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Stables, signed the ticket. Out of a half-sister to MSW Amarata (Water Bank), the 2-year-old had zipped an eighth in :10 flat at the preview Thursday.

A half-brother to GI Hollywood Starlet S. winner Laragh (Tapit) added to the headlines garnered by hot sire War Front (Danzig) at Keeneland April Monday. Consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent VII, the May foal was hammered down to Steve Young for $475,000. The bay is also from the family of GISW Siphonic (Siphon {Brz}) and MGSW Dixie Dot Com (Dixie Brass).

By the way, how many go today?
Nevermind, I looked it up. Hips 1-169 today. I wonder what happened to the first IC today. The seller did some real talking up on that one. |

From the TDN
Hip 72:
Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie) might have come up a bit short in the GI Wood Memorial S. last Saturday, but his sire was able to generate some fireworks at Keeneland April Monday. Hip 72, a colt by Indian Charlie who had breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 at the under-tack show, was hammered down to John Moynihan, on behalf of Stonestreet Stables, for $625,000. Consignor Hartley/DeRenzo bought the bay as a FTSAUG yearling for $150,000. His second dam is MGSW Pleasant Temper (Storm Cat).
