Default full tilt/pokerstars taken down by feds

i'm not home to check on my account but according to the news the d.o.j. siezed the domain names and anyone trying to log on is greeted by a notice from the f.b.i. about the illegality of internet gambling.

that's huge for anyone that played online. these are the two biggest sites for u.s. players. i'll lose just over $1000 assuming there's no access to full tilt anymore but i know people that'll be out tens of thousands. it's a sad day and a tough hit on a lot of bankroll's.

i hate to think of having to drive to a brick and mortar for a game now.

you can get to the games through the download? that's not so bad then.

if all they did is seize fulltilt.com it'll just cut off new u.s. players signing on. i thought they would have cut off all access.

still...i have to assume the money i have on is going to be really hard to ever get off now.

I just tried to download updated version and it stopped and asked me to try later. Fortunately I only have a little over $500,000.00 and 100% is play money.

Not sure how this hurts Full Tilt?

Wouldn't have been prudent for the Feds to alert players to drain their accounts prior to the shutdown?

maybe they'll collect any money held in US accounts and of course spend it more wisely than account holders.

As soon as they're done making lunches and searching the school children for food contraband.

Maybe this will be good for horse racing as some card players will come over and become full/part time players.

I guess the FBI is dropping in class to get a win to build self esteem. The War on Terror/Wallstreet Corruption/Internet Predators wasn't going so great so I guess the War on Poker players will give them their much needed victory.

The thing I find fustrating is that with the government having no money, instead of closing everything down and trying to lock people up, why not jump on board and get a free piece of the pie?

Math... 2 Words. Religious Right They will bitch and ****ing moan about deficits yet any novel idea (online gaming, legalization of pot) they find the need to protect us from ourselves.. Yet their ****ing Bingo games keep on keeping on. If I had the resources I would certainly leave this country becuase it has become a ****ing parody out of a South Park Script.

The mythical religious right isnt having much luck in Ga. Turns out the folks need the extra cash and sales from liquor, so the Sunday ban on it will soon be lifted.

Let us know if you get your money!

Quote:
Two of the three online poker sites shut down by the government last week have cut a deal to return players' money, the Justice Department in New York said today.

The agreements allow for PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to use the pokerstars.com and fulltiltpoker.com domain names to facilitate the withdrawal of U.S. players' funds held in accounts with the companies, according to the statement.

"No individual player accounts were ever frozen or restrained, and each implicated poker company has at all times been free to reimburse any player's deposited funds," Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharra said in a statement. "In fact, this office expects the companies to return the money that U.S. players entrusted to them, and we will work with the poker companies to facilitate the return of funds to players, as today's agreements with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker demonstrate."
