Photos of Osama bin Laden with the poll
Okay, blew that, trying again with the poll attached this time:
Should photos of a dead person shot in the face be released to the public?

If you want photos, Reuters has some here and is making a claim (not of bin Laden, but of two others there)

honestly, i don't care if they release them or not. i'd like to see the seals in action-not necessarily the actual killing. but there's nothing like well-trained troops doing their job, and seeing it happen.
as for showing/not showing them-it won't prove anything. those who believe he's dead don't need more convincing, anyone who thinks he's not dead would call the photos a fake. there's no body, no grave-no physical presence for his twisted followers to rally behind. and now, no pics either. i have no issue with not showing them. |

I think that with Reuters releasing the pictures of the wounds of the other people at the compound, that further decreases some "need" to release pics of bin Laden with the left upper quarter of his face blown off. Looks just like that, except there's a hole where the left eye and forehead should be ....
Big deal - bin Laden is dead. He heard the roar of the helicopters overhead, heard the screaming and gunshots closing in on him. His last thought and view was shocked surprise and horror at seeing an American soldier aiming a gun at his face in his bedroom. And I hope the soldier gave him at least a half-second to think about that. His body is already nothing but bones and bits of gristle left rolling around at the bottom of the ocean, eaten by crabs and fish.

Al-Quada and the Taliban has no problems showing pictures of people beheaded. I have no problems seeing pictures of the coward that was just killed. Maybe they should put an apple in his mouth. Bin Laden got a better burial than he deserved, yet people are saying his body didn't get treated with respect and dignity. Wan wan wan. Maybe Bin Laden should of been beheaded.

17 people care way too much about avoiding pssn off Muslims. You may think it's possible to avoid doing that..... It is not possible. It's like watering artificial turf.

It's not that I give a damn about what radical Islamists think, I just don't think that's what America is about, we call them animals and I have no problem with that when they act that way, but we need not lower ourselves to that level.

Uh, excuse me, how many f'n horror movies we have each year in this country? That damn Aliens movie had creatures hatching out of peoples' tummies. All the sudden, we care about how graphic images are? I mean this seems like we are getting religion pretty late.

If Obama does show some pictures of Bin Laden maybe his popularity will go up a measly one percent. Give America closure with this bastard, show a few pics of this cowardly thug.

I thought the 'good' muslims were happy about bin Laden being killed? Thought they would want to see the evil man that cast on them so much grief and prejudice dead? Show the picture for 'them'.

Being happy a man who brought them a lot of grief is dead is not the same as wanting to see graphic picture(s). I've been unfortunate enough to see plenty of graphic scenes in my life, I can't think of a single positive thing I ever gained from same.
