Cincinnati Zoo solar energy
How cool is this? Cincinnati Zoo installs 6400 solar panels, on canopies in the parking lot. So visitors for the day get to park in the shade of the solar panels.
Produces 20% of the zoo's energy, massively reduces it's carbon footprint, will save the zoo millions in energy over the lifetime. What a great use of open parking lot-type spaces. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...zoo28_ST_N.htm

pretty cool, wonder if they considered collecting the rain off the panels for use at the zoo?

Was there a couple of years ago. Home of the White Bengal Tigers. What a neat place.

To be honest, it looks like they might be pretty vulnerable to wind. Looks almost like bolted down jet wings.
