Default Illinois house passes slot bill...again

The Illinois house passed slot bill... again now it goes to the senate.I hope that finally this thing goes all the way.It is so needed to help the industry .Hopefully the riverboats grasp on the senate is finally over.

Actually, this is the first time it passed the House. In January it was never called for the full House Vote. Needless to say, the Senate vote today is huge.

Looks like it will pass the senate. The Gov. said he'll likely sign it but has reservations. Look for the bill to now be inflated with more State employed gaming agents complete with beni's and pensions etc etc before it will pass but looks good right now. What hasn't been mentioned, and not sure it is still part of the bill, is OTB's were included for having slots at one time?

Not sure anyone shoud have a complaint unless married to or a child of a Greek restaurant owner in this one.

Where did you read Quinn would sign it Steve? He has been very vocal in his opposition, although I realize what Rahm wants, Rahm gets.

I have been hearing Senate vote will be close,

another thing to look at... will Arl Hts village board actually approve it? They've been against it too.

Not over yet. Quinn has to sign it and has opposed it, but considering all the positive conversations and the fact that the Rahm machine wants it, he is best off signing it.
