Default River Jetez wins the Beverly D.

Oh is it too early for that title?

I just wanted to mention something..

For those of you who don't know, Pocket Power is like Secretariat in SA (River Jetez is his little sister, by the way...) and Mother Russia is a superstar in her own right.

Anyway I know most of you have seen her brave 2nd place finishes * (Dubai Duty Free, Singapore International Airlines Cup) so here are a few she won.

She's a naughty girl, by the way, but as long as she goes in the gate...

River Jetez.

The other girls will have to wait till next year and hope she doesn't come.

I'm sorry but in her 16 starts she's raced at Greyville (South Africa) 6 times, Kelinworth (South Africa) twice, Clairwood (South Africa) twice, Meydan 3 times, Sha Tin once, Kranji once and at Newmarket once...

Why do they keep calling her a South African-bred Euro? How is she a Euro?

Aaah well...

Fingers crossed for her dad (see Jet Master thread). West Nile Virus... some serious stuff. Hope he'll be okay.

There's no Alrington Million thread yet so thought I'd mention it here...

The same way War Artist is - currently trained in Europe. I know, it's silly. She is and always will be a South African horse. War Artist is harder to peg; he was foaled in Australia, raced originally in South Africa and has gone through a couple of yards in Europe. He is currently in training in Germany, which does not make him a German horse!

After I checked on our horses it was my goal to see her this morning and I caught her grazing with Wigmore Hall today.

Was talking to her caretaker for a bit also. She is a nasty bugger and the second you are not paying attention she goes after you. She looked great none the less.

(edit...)

“River Jetez ran her heart out, she gave her best and we’re all very proud of her,” said De Kock. “She had every chance in the race and was beaten by two very good fillies. South Africa got good exposure and we’re honoured to have been a part of this event.”
