Default Scuds - Need Input

Yo,

Just got a crazy idea. I am going to be in Vegas, July 6th through July 9th...It is Hollywood Gold Cup weekend. From what I can gather, it is close to 300 miles from Vegas to Inglewood.

Is this drive easy? pain in the ass? traffic? I would have to do it quickly because I am out there for a bachelor party. I could probably get lost for 12 hours and not even be missing but if it is going to take alot longer (I have heard some horror stories about driving from Vegas to LA) then I am going to have to pass...

Your opinion...Might leave Vegas at like 7am and get there at 11am, and then leave Inglewood at like 5 to get back to Vegas at 9...

The drive in(Vegas to HWD PARK) should be ok.You leave at 7 a.m,and get to the track at 11:45,or noon.The part back to Vegas will not be so easy.Even on a Saturday or Sunday,the Freeways at 5p.m. are usually a problem(roll of the dice.)

I took that drive in March.. thought it would take that amount of time.. left Vegas around NOON.. didn't get to Redondo Beach until 7ish... hit construction on I-15 and got stuck for about 2 hours!! D'oh!!

SO PUMPED...None of my friends want to go but that WILL NOT DETER ME...

Flight= $105, get there after the 1st race, leave like two hours after racing finishs
Cab = $20
Hollywood Ticket= $10 to get into Clubhouse, and then only $8 for a BOX? I can't believe this?

Only $150 cost....or I save the $150 and sit in the sportsbook all day...OH MAN

The drive is a piece of cake. You can go as fast as you want and I mean that literally. We did this trip in about 3 hrs, 15 min. You may get into some traffic once you get on the main highway outside of LA but for the most part you should be fine. Like Scudsbrother said, allow yourself roughly 4 hours to be safe and leave as early as possible on Saturday morning.

Not like my opinion matters, but for $150, I would fly. Why waste the gas and time if you could fly for almost the same cost?

Yeah, I will most def be flying if I do this, not sure yet....I was talking to the ticket guy and he made me sound like I am nuts. I compared it to Arlington Million day ($5 seats are jacked to $75) and he is like "no, the box is $8...

Scav, you, of all people, need to do it.

I did Vegas to SD(flew SWA for about $100) to watch the Pacific Classic 6 years ago and had an absolute blast. Holly is a short cab ride from LAX. If you rent a car and buy gas it will end up being as much as a flight and will burn up a lot more of your time.

Do it, have fun and report back to us.
Bigs
