* Speed (as fast as anyone) * Size (6'5" with an incredible wing-span) * Body control (best I've ever seen - it made his "strike-zone" huge) ![]() * Hands (Incredible hands. T. O. drops routine short passes - when Moss dropped anything it was almost always from worrying about getting hit) * Leaping ability * Endurance (Most guys would be gassed by the 2nd quarter from all the deep vertical routes he ran) Sure - he didn't have the body type to work underneath and go over the middle ... but he would draw more double teams near the goal-line than any WR in history - and he almost certainly drew more 40+ yard pass interference calls than any wideout ever .. and you don't see those on his stat sheets. |

![]() So he catches a TD to put his team up in the Super Bowl but because of a miraculous play between Manning and Tyree and a blown coverage by the db that allowed Burress to score and beat them, that's the difference between him having a ring and being a winner and not and being a loser?

![]() A winner always gives his best even when things aren't going his way.
A loser gives his best when things are going his way;and quits when they are not going...said way. |

![]() This is very true. I just think that too often in team sports, people are labeled as winners or losers based on championships won when so many factors that are beyond their control play a large part in whether they win or not. As I mentioned with Moss, without that miracle pass to Tyree, Moss has a ring now. Did Kevin Garnett suddenly become a winner when he won or did he become better? Dirk Nowitzki is not better now than he has been and he wasn't a loser before. Is Alex Rodriguez a winner now? Trent Dilfer is a winner and Dan Marino a loser?

![]() The "ring" stuff is nonsense in football.
I understand why they try and use it for the quarterback. The quarterback touches the ball every offensive snap - and has a chance to audible pre-snap based on defensive looks. the game is 40% offense, 40% defense, and 20% special teams...and with 11 friggen people on the field at all times. In basketball - you have the same five guys going both ways - it's the only team sport where "ring" means anything. In individual sports - championships are everything. |
