I'm no fan of this president, but I do want to see both the Republican debate and the president's address, so I'm glad they're on two separate nights.

And I'll give Obama the benefit of the doubt. He is not alone in charge of his daily schedule, and maybe the staff saw Wednesday as the best day originally.
