Default She truly has done enough

An unfortunate result to end her career, but it's been an absolute joy and privilege to watch Goldikova these last four years. Hats off to the Wertheimers for campaigning a champion like a champion and not a show horse. Not sure we'll see another like her anytime soon.

I agree, well said, Joe. Amazing there was no change to the order of finish.

She would've had to take out the entire field behind her. No way does Goldi go out with a DQ. I could tell they were just trying to justify leaving her up in their heads rather than place her last as they would've otherwise had to do.

I guess Steve is glad he had second thoughts about Turallure from a financial standpoint after the post draw because the photo would've been pretty hard to watch. On the other hand, nice call on the near win.

Good luck to Goldikova as she takes on new adventures. It's been a pleasure watching her run.

If any horse has really done enough, it's been Goldikova.

You would think she was on cruise control during that race going by the race call. She was in a nightmare spot behind those plugs.

Refreshing to see a horse with a serious campaign and career. Unfortunate a plug won the race. Court Vision will be a tough question on Jeopardy one day.

During the race, I just got the feeling that it was going to be a replay of Stacelita all over again.

I actually backed off trying to beat her, I used her in all multis. I think she got a perfect trip other then P Val leaning on her a little bit. She got out at the top of the stretch made the lead and really at no point accelerated. The point I'm trying to make is that she had no real excuse. Shes a champion no doubt, and Joey is right about everything he said. I do believe though, that the people who said she is not as good this year were correct. When she makes the lead, shes supposed to win, right? Not even bringing up the issue with her taking Courageous Cat right out of the race. I'm 100% confident she only stayed up because he was unable to re rally and finished last or maybe he was pulled up. Anyway none of that matters, I wish she had won. For the first time I found myself wanting her to win.

I never once had that feeling. She looked locked and loaded the entire trip. I thought she was a winner, until she got clear and never at any point did she burst away.

What a warrior/champion she was, but to end a career getting beat by a horse like Court Vision was a bit of a slap in the face.

I disagree, the only people who were slapped in the face by Court Vision were the bettors.

Well said, and ditto the shoutout to the Wertheimers. Goldikova's career was something special.

The field she was facing yesterday was not exactly stellar but I thought it was almost enough to offset whatever form loss she had this year. I still tried to beat her, but my first toss in doing so was Court Vision. I thought he was impossible.

a bigger slap in the face was a horse like Perfect Shirl beating the likes of Nahrain, Stacelita, and Misty For Me

She did have a trip at Woodbine last out, she might have come into this off a major Grade 1 win had she got clear. Anyway you cut it though Misty For Me was tons the best.
