Love this race. First filly to win the Belmont in over 100 years, so appropriate that it should be secretariat's great granddaughter.

Garrett Gomez had already committed to ride Hard Spun before the decided to enter Rags to Riches in the Belmont. Garrett Gomez was her regular rider, they won the Kentucky Oaks a few weeks earlier.

Rags to Riches half brother Jazil won it the year before, her father A. P. Indy won it in 1992 and her great grandfather Secretariat won it in 1973.
