Default Ann Richards passed today

The former Democratic governor of Texas and a major party spokesperson, she was known for coining the phrase, "George was born with a silver foot in his mouth" when speaking to the convention about George Bush.

She was the best governor this state has had since I have been alive.
imo of course.
She did a good job. Just got caught in the Savings and Loan debacle that was not her fault. And then George W came on the scene and the rest is history.

Just for the record ...

... Ma Richards was referring to George H.W. Bush when she made that statement in 1988 ...

... but she was completely flummoxed when not only he was elected president ... but also when his son was elected governor ... and then president.

But ... Ma was a decent lady ... a partisan with a light touch.

RIP, Ma.
