First time starter by Discreet Cat -- the dam won her debut going two-turns and won a stakes race at two-turns second time out.

Miler pedigree right there for a filly who debuted with a triple digit BSF. Another one for the sire who might have a chance to be a real nice horse.

Pretty disappointing that we won't see Force Freeze again until Derby day. Sounds like Walder has an ambitious five-race campaign planned for him.

Especially since the Carter is worth the same money and does not preclude him from running at CD anyway. Welcome to racing in 2012.

Yeah, unfortunately not surprising, but pretty ironic in his case, since they tried their best to run him into the ground in Dubai.

How's Paynter looking in terms of development? I know he's supposed to have talent, but some new horses we're hearing about now are prepping more for the big spring races while others are looking to Haskell and Travers and just won't be ready for the TC. Where are the spectrum does Paynter seem to fall? Is Baffert even hazarding a guess yet?

Hopefully, he'll wait for a more accurate assessment of the horse when he starts in a race featuring more than 3 rivals (one of whom was a stablemate).

That race might have been more dressed up than Empire Way's soft debut.
