Default good history of NY / KY breeding rivalry

This may be old news to some; just finished "How Kentucky Became Southern" by Mary Jean Wall which details the post Civil War evolution of the New York and Kentucky thoroughbred breeding industries. It is a little tedious at times but very interesting for horse racing buffs.
