Default Australia tracks that race in January

Anyone have any insite on what tracks are running in the early part of January in Australia? One that would be worthwhile to go to if I am there from January 6th through January 21th?

Any big days within that time frame?

Probably gonna focus on Melbourne and Sydney, I want to go to Brisbane to go to a koala sanctury but not sure if we can crunch it all in.

From what I read online, their train system is very good over there.

Can you give me a specific track that is running during those first two weeks that I should check out?

I have been 'given' one day to go to the races, , want to utilize it on the best one possible!

Google.

This link shows feature races from January 2012. You can at least see what tracks are running in January. I doubt the tracks running January 2013 will be a ton different. I'm sure there are a ton of smaller tracks running during the week, but my 30 seconds looking didn't turn up a list.

I'll try for this but I am guessing I will be under restraints most of the trip.

Thanks alot. If you had to choose between Caulfield and Flemington, which one would you think an American would like to experience?

I'm gonna try for both!

What the hell kind of restraints are you going to be under? You are looking for God Damn racetracks to go to..........

If we get to go, I've been told that I only get one day of horse racing. I would want three, but I am hopefully going to win another day somehow.

I'm not really sure if its even reasonable considering the cost but we have always talked about going there so what the hell. We'll see if we can make it work.

There's a Koala sanctuary outside of Melbourne on the way to Phillips Island the Fairy penguins. And there is a sanctuary/zoo place near Sydney with Koala's, Wombats, Kangaroos, Wallaby's and the like that we used to go to. Can't think of the name right now, might be something as simple as Koala Park. Ummm but why are you not going to Cairns/Great Barrier Reef?
