So it looks like Ramon is riding at Belmont all day, and after his mount on Morgan's Guerilla, is flying to beautiful and scenic Altoona, Iowa to ride Hansen and Headache later that night?

Busy day.

So he should give up mounts in graded stakes races because he doesn't need the money?

Just go to the window and bet Emona in the Oaks and you will cash a very nice ticket.

It will be interesting to see how the shippers perform -- vanning into Iowa when it's 100 degrees outside isn't ideal.

In terms of paper picks here, one of my big angles is showing a bias to locally based horses and against shippers on summer days when the weather is most extremely hot.

The trainers that have shipped in are not liking the condition of track.

I heard it is possible that Lopresti will scratch Successful Dan.

I just wish the track announcer could find other words to use besides " right there".

Fort Larned got loose through a 24.57 1st quarter.

Got his final furlong in 11 4/5.

I know you're trying to get as much mileage out of your new nickname for him as possible, but it's a little tough to pin this on Leparoux. Why the rider of Shadowbdancing enabled Fort Larned to establish such an easy lead is a little tough to determine.

i don't think anyone could have done anything else with dan-he was clearly a victim of the pace. leparoux might be due criticisms on occasion, but i don't think was one of those tiimes.

Successful Dan is as good early speed as Fort Larned, so your argument is unjust...

Leparoux did on this ride the same thing he always does, rides with WAY too much patience. I am not sure if it is because he is almost always on the chalk, but for some reason rides like the rest of the filed cannot beat him, no matter where is at... almost always giving his horses too much to do too late.
