Default August 15, 2012 The Day the Romney Candidacy Died

When you spend a week with your poll numbers crashing so badly, you have to announce your Vice Presidential pick early in a desperate attempt to change the narrative, in the middle of the night on a Friday, with a Saturday before-dawn rollout ...

When the media and the internet spends the weekend destroying your VP pick for his political views and past budget actions ...

When even the mainstream media starts questioning the outrageous lies your campaign is putting out ...

When your surrogates on the political shows get skewered for lying by the MSM ...

When the only response from your opponents campaign is, "He seems unhinged" after you canceled campaigning over the weekend because you were "tired", and then went on a ranting tirade ...

When you go on television first thing in the morning the following Wednesday, and the only thing you are doing is flailing away using Karl Rove's "Reverse the Frame" political tactics, blowing dog whistles right and left, which brings down a media and internet storm upon your head ...

When you have to go on national television to say, "I am not unhinged" ...

Then Gallup comes out that afternoon showing zero bump in the polls for the disastrous VP pick you chose personally, against all the advice of your campaign strategists ...

Your campaign might be, for all practical purposes, over.

Question: Will Romney bail out before Convention, leaving Paul Ryan as top of the ticket?

Mitt doesn't, though. He's has a pretty bad past few days. His appearance this morning on CBS was pretty ... bad. Mitt's candidacy is in big trouble right now, and hopefully he'll pull out of it before the convention.

"So, Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago."

Yeah ... Karl Rove got to Romney over Monday to try and save this sinking ship of an unprofessional campaign. He (Rove) got his editorial published in WSJ, and gave Romney a handout on the Rove "Reverse A Frame" political tactic.

You see, the President has been out on the stump, recorded every speech, readily available on the internet but he hasn't been divisive, angry, or hateful. Romney is flailing desperately and practicing Rove's "Reverse A Frame".

I mean, seriously - turning into screaming flying harpies over, "Wall Street wants to be unchained from regulation, and that'll put you back in chains"? Everyone's laughing at them for that. For chrissakes, Paul Ryan said the exact same thing about Wall Street, only using the word "schackles".

Oh, the gullible.

Did he really say that? Kind of early in the campaign to use the "angry black man from a city we can't possibly carry anyway" strategy. What's next, he's really a European because he's got a Portuguese Water Dog? Willie Horton? Swiftboating?

Ocala Mike how could you possibly inject race into that statement? The Chicago Democrats, from where Obama rose, are known as the dirtiest, most corrupt political machine in the history of this country. Do you know how Obama got elected to the Senate? He illegally had sealed divorce records leaked. Using race is the last desperate gasp by liberals when they are losing the argument.

By the way Mike, do you which candidate sat in a church pew every Sunday for 20 years and listened to hateful, racist rhetoric while thinking nothing was wrong with it and then lied to the entire country about it?

Since this is a horse gambling site, how about this Riot, I challenge you to put some money behind your useless rhetoric by wagering $1,000 that Romney is still the nominee after the Republican convention. Come Riot, show some guts and back up the propaganda your liberal masters pass down to you.

As difficult as this is for me to type through the tears in my eyes from laughing so hard, I am curious as to which word in this sentence you found in any way referred to Obama's race, was it President, campaign, division, hate, anger or Chicago?

Romney's handlers are too smart to deliver anything in plain text, but the code they use is easily decipherable.

"Don't vote for somebody like that. He's full of hate and anger, and needs to go back to the somewhere else he's from (Chicago = ?)."

Please explain - seriously.

You believe that Romney wrote something in code so it is understood by some but not others? And the intent was to send a racial message under code?

Congratulations on what might be the dumbest post (and that is a hurdle previously thought insurmountable) to grace this message board.

I'm not sure that even Rev. Al Sharpton would go this far.

No, but I believe that those are not Romney's words. They were carefully chosen for him to deliver by the party functionaries in order to rile up the base.

Thanks for that honor, and I am truly humble. I must say that I didn't do it on my own, but I stand on the shoulders of the giants that came before me in this board.

I hardly believe that.
